  Early Day Motion
(HOT NEWS 12th November 2002)
The EDM finally settled with 322 MP signatures at the Close of Session of Parliament (a new Session begins following the State Opening of Parliament by the Queen).   This high number of signatories shows the tremendous support being given to LUPUS UK by MPs from all Parties. A large number of MPs who hold Office and, therefore, do not sign EDMs have voiced their support and several MPs have written to the Minister for Health on our behalf.

22 MPs, 3 PAs to MPs and 3 representatives of LUPUS UK (Brian Hanner, Director, Yvonne Norton , Vice-Chair & Trustee, and Peter Norton) attended the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Lupus AGM at Portcullis House on 30th October.  32 MPs registered their apologies for absence due to other commitments.   This was an excellent turnout for an APPG Meeting and the MPs who were present made very helpful suggestions as to the progress of the APPG and to ways in which they can give further support to Lupus patients and LUPUS UK.
