On Wednesday, 12th October, a ceremony was held at the Medical School, University of Birmingham, when Yvonne Norton, Vice-Chair & Trustee, LUPUS UK, announced that the Birmingham Lupus Unit (at Wellcome Centre, Queen Elizabeth Hospital site, and City Hospital) were being given the accolade of first LUPUS UK Centre of Excellence. Plaques for both centres were presented to Dr. Caroline Gordon and Prof. Caroline Savage by Eva Fontaine, Nurse Faith in BBC's 'Doctors' and supporter of WMLG/LUPUS UK. |

The ELEF Convention took place in Amsterdam 28th September - 2nd October. Peter Norton (Treasurer WMLG) was re-elected Treasurer of ELEF and Yvonne Norton (Chairman, WMLG) was asked to continue as Charity Commission Correspondent. Brian Hanner (former Director, LUPUS UK) was re-elected Projects Advisor. |

(HOT NEWS 20th July 2005) Lord Bilston (Dennis Turner), re-elected Treasurer of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Lupus, has joined other Peers to continue to support Lupus in the House of Lords. |

(HOT NEWS 20th July 2005) On 14th June, members of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Lupus met at Portcullis House to re-form following the General Election. The existing Officers were all re-elected to post and Ian Austin MP was welcomed as the latest member. |

(HOT NEWS 16th January 2005) Chris Maker (formerly Deputy Director) became Director of LUPUS UK on 1st January 2005, taking over from Brian Hanner who retired on 31st December 2004 after being with LUPUS UK since 1994. |
